If you’re in the market for a new OLED Smart TV, then look no further than the LG C1 – it’s the best 4K OLED Smart TV that LG has to offer in 2021, according to Rtings.
And I have to agree, the specs are amazing, the picture quality is great, and it’s fantastic for gaming with ultra fast response times and low input lag.
But let’s take a deeper look into the features this excellent TV has to offer and some of the questions that you may have.
Here’s what you need to know about The LG C1:
The LG C1 has great picture quality and a decent 40W of Dolby Atmos audio. The C1 is great for gaming with near-instant response times for smooth gameplay, ultra-low input lag and support for VRR. Like all OLEDs, the C1 produces inky blacks – perfect for watching in dark rooms.
Is the LG C1 4K?
The LG C1 OLED is a 4K TV with a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160.
Is the LG C1 120Hz?
The LG C1 has a refresh rate of 120Hz and can interpolate lower frame rate content up to 120fps.
Does the LG C1 have the evo panel?
The LG C1 does not have the evo panel but is available on the more expensive LG G1.
How many HDMI ports does the LG C1 have?
The LG C1 has 4 HDMI ports.
Does the LG C1 have HDMI 2.1?
The LG C1 has 4 HDMI 2.1 inputs which support 4K at 144Hz.
Does the LG C1 have eARC?
The LG C1 has eARC on HDMI 2 and is able to pass a Dolby Atmos signal via TrueHD via eARC.
For this to work, you have to enable HDMI-eARC Mode by selecting HDMI Input Audio Format and then choosing ‘Bitstream’.
Next, you have to set the Digital Sound Output to ‘Auto’ and toggle eARC Support.
Does the LG C1 have Chromecast?
The LG C1 does not have a built-in Chromecast, but it is possible to connect one externally.

But the LG G1 is primarily designed to be wall mounted as it has a slimmer design that’s designed to be flush against a wall.
Other than this, most of the specs and sizes are the same.
Does LG C1 support Dolby Atmos?
The LG C1 has a 2.2-channel system capable of producing 40W of Dolby Atmos audio.
The LG C1 can also pass Dolby Atmos signals through to a receiver or soundbar using HDMI eARC.
Does the LG C1 have Dolby vision?
The LG C1 supports Dolby Vision HDR at 4K/120Hz. It also has support for HDR10 and HLG but not HDR10+.
Is the LG C1 good for gaming?
The LG C1 is an excellent gaming TV with four HDMI 2.1 ports, a refresh rate of 120Hz@4K and support for VRR and Nvidia G-Sync.
There’s a new game optimiser setting that allows you to quickly adjust White Stabilizer, Black Stabilizer and VRR.
ALLM is also supported which switches the TV into game mode when the TV detects that a console has been plugged in.
There’s also a “Prevent Input Delay” feature which drops the input lag to less than 10ms.
Is the LG C1 HDR?
The LG C1 supports HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision. It doesn’t support HDR10+ though.
In terms of brightness, which is important for HDR, Rtings achieved a peak brightness of 860 nits in a 2% window.
This is the brightness of a white square which covers 2% of the screen.
This is pretty bright for an OLED screen but they did state that to achieve the brightest image possible, image quality was sacrificed.
Does the LG C1 have Airplay?
The LG C1 supports AirPlay 2.
Does the LG C1 need a soundbar?
The LG C1 doesn’t need a soundbar but it would benefit from having one to go with the excellent picture.
That being said, the speakers on the C1 are better than your average TV speakers.
The speakers are a 2.2 channel system with 40W of Dolby Atmos audio.
There is also a feature that can upscale basic stereo audio tracks into virtual 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos sound using AI.
Does LG C1 have VRR?
The LG C1 supports FreeSync VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) natively and also has G-SYNC compatibility to help prevent screen tearing.
This is particularly welcome if you’re playing games on the TV.

Burn-in can occur when static images such as a logo are displayed on the screen for hours or days at a time.
If burn-in does occur, then you can turn the screen off for a while or watch varying and moving content.
These two things should help clear any short-term burn-in issues.
Additionally, LG has included a screensaver that detects when static images have been displayed for two minutes.
LG has also included three additional features to help preserve image quality. These are:
- Clear Panel Noise feature – resets the TV to clear the pixels.
- Screen Shift feature – moves the screen slightly at regular intervals.
- Logo Luminance Adjustment – detects logo and reduces brightness to help protect against permanent burn-in issues.
Does the LG C1 have atsc 3.0?
The LG C1 does not support NextGen TV, also known as ATSC 3.0.
Does the LG C1 have gallery mode?
The LG C1 does have a gallery mode which allows you to display artwork when the TV isn’t in use.
The images are rotated to help prevent burn-in, but there are a few restrictions that you should be aware of:
- You can’t use your own pictures and you must use those that are on LG’s servers.
- You can’t keep one single picture up at any one time, so you have to cycle through them all.
- You can’t customize the frames surrounding the artwork.

The LG C1 has a screensaver that activates whenever it detects static images on the screen.
Although the screensaver can’t be customized, you can turn it off in the settings.
Alternatively, there is a “gallery mode” that shows different pieces of artwork or pictures every few seconds.

The LG C1 has support for Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and Apple Homekit.
